"The Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels in flaming fire, taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ." And that the "Lord shall consume with the spirit of His mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of His coming."
St. John, says:
"I indeed baptize you with water, but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and WITH FIRE."
Thus we see that spirit is denominated fire in the ordinance of Spiritual Baptism.
And St. Paul says:
"By one spirit are we all baptized into one body."
Let us now glance at the account of John's spiritual vision while on the Isle of Patmos, as recorded in the Book of Revelation:
"I heard behind me a great voice as the voice of a trumpet, saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. And I turned to see the voice that spake with me, and I saw seven golden candlesticks, and One in the midst of the candlesticks like unto the Son of Man. His head and his hair were white as the snow, and his eyes were as flames of fire, and his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace, and his voice as the sound of many waters. And he had in his right hand seven stars; and out of his mouth went a sharp two-edged sword; and his countenance was as the Sun shining in his strength."
