And then was bound for Aberdeen,
From thence to sail for East Lothi’n:
And so from Stirling to retreat,
On his arrival there to wait;
And were by no means to oppose
Them on their march, or come to blows,
Until the foot and horse unite;
This was John Cope’s orders complete,
While Charles yet, he lay at Down,
