Into an Island spatious and brode,

The furthest North, that did to them appeare:

Which[1089] after rest they seeking far abrode,

Found it the fittest soyle for their abode,

Fruitfull of all things fit for liuing foode,

But wholy wast, and void of peoples trode,

Saue an huge nation of the Geaunts broode,

That fed on liuing flesh, and druncke mens vitall blood.
