Ay when to him she cryde, to her he turnd,
2 And left the fire; loue money ouercame:
But when he marked, how his money burnd,
4 He left his wife; money did loue disclame:
Both was he loth to loose his loued Dame,
6 And loth to leaue his liefest pelfe behind,
Yet sith he n'ote saue both, he sau'd that same,
8 Which was the dearest to his donghill mind,
The God of his desire, the ioy of misers blind.
