2 They traueild had, when as they farre espide
A wearie wight forwandring by the way,
4 And towards him they gan in hast to ride,
To weet of newes, that did abroad betide,
6 Or tydings of her knight of the Redcrosse.
But he them spying, gan to turne aside,
8 For feare as seemd, or for some feigned losse;
More greedy they of newes, fast towards him do crosse.
