Thence forward by that painfull way they pas,
2 Forth to an hill, that was both steepe and hy;
On top whereof a sacred chappell was,
4 And eke a litle Hermitage thereby,
Wherein an aged holy man did lye,
6 That day and night said his deuotion,
Ne other worldly busines did apply;
8 His name was heauenly Contemplation;
Of God and goodnesse was his meditation.
