The while unfolded o’er me like a wing

The panorama of the night and day.

A petty part I played within a play

While Spring and Summer scenery did fling

Round me fit for the great gods glorying,

And set suns, gem-like, on the breast of day.

At last the power behind it I did learn.

I met you and the meaning was made clear;

Then I built worthy of the garden here.

My heart’s a dwelling now gods may not spurn,
