“Wa-ley yá ’eyn shebekteenë

Wa-bi-l-alház garahteenë.

Ya-bu-l-gálif. Ya-bu-l-gelfee.

Bi-lláhi rikk wa-shfeenë.

Ya-bu-l-gelfee, etc.”

And why, O eye! hast thou ensnared us?

And with glances wounded us?

O thou with the side-lock! O thou in the long-sleeved yelek!

By Allah! have compassion, and heal us.
