SPANISH SLEEVE,
TO CORRESPOND WITH THE BODICE. [No. 2].
Materials—1 skein each of Black, White, Blue or Magenta, Andalusian Wool; a pair of pins Nos. 19, 14, and 10.
With the black wool and No. 14 pins, cast on 169 stitches. Work as the Pointed Trimming in the previous direction to the end of the 20th row; knit the last two stitches of it together, when there will be 72 stitches on the pin; and for the
21st row—Black. All plain.
22nd row—Blue or Magenta; pins No. 19. Knit 1 and pearl 1 to the end. Work 15 rows more the same.
38th row—White; No. 10 pins. Make 1 and knit 3. Repeat, and knit the last 2 stitches together.
39th row—Plain.
40th row—Slip the 1st, then make 1, knit 2 together. Repeat to the end.
Work the last 2 rows 20 times more. Then with black wool and No. 19 pins knit 2 rows as the 22nd; with Magenta, knit 4 rows; and black, 2 rows the same. Cast off and sew the selvedges together. If required, the 2 rows of white can be repeated until it is sufficiently long to be attached to the armhole of the bodice.
