I’se watching for Santa. I hope he’ll come soon.

’Cause every one’s ’sleep in this house except me.

He hasn’t come yet, for my stocking’s not filled,

I lit me a candle and crept down to see.

I’ll sit1 down and watch for him, here on the floor.

And tell him I need a new dolly to-night.

My eyes2 are so sleepy I just have to shut ’em,3
