FACULTY.—Man is born faculty and inclination; faculty to know, and inclination to love, [134]. The faculty of understanding and growing wise as of himself, was implanted in man by creation, [444]. Man has the faculty of elevating his understanding into the light of wisdom, and his will into the heat of celestial love; these two faculties are never taken away from any man, [230]. The faculty of becoming wise increases with those who are in love truly conjugial, [211].
