Whoredom is the destruction of society, [345]. They are imputed to every one after death, not according to the deeds themselves, but according to the state of the minds in the deeds, [530].

WIFE, a, is the love of a wise man's wisdom, [56]. She represents the love of her husband's wisdom, [21]. The wife signifies the good of truth, [76]. In heaven, the wife is the love of her husband's wisdom, and the husband is the wisdom of her love, [75]. The wife perceives, sees, and is sensible of the things which are in her husband, in herself, and thence as it were herself in him, [173]. There is with wives a sixth sense, which is the sense of all the delights of the conjugial love of the husband, and this sense is in the palms of the hands, [155*].
