The negress hastily went to the door and opened it.
"Dat's Mis' Farley!" she said in an undertone. Answering in the same key, she shouted: "Yassum, Mis' Farley."
"Is Miss Murdock up there?" cried the same voice.
"Yassum, Mis' Farley; yassum!"
