A rare bird of this Province, but is found on Vancouver Island and east to the Rocky Mountains.

Colaptes cafer collaris (Vigors).
Common east of Cascade Mountains through the interior, at Duck's,
Sicamous and Okanagan.
207. North-western Flicker.
Colaptes cafer saturatior (Ridgew.).
Abundant resident west of Cascade Mountains; very common on Vancouver
Island.
