BRODIE, Alexander (younger son of John Brodie of Aberdeen, mariner). b. Aberdeen 1830; apprenticed in foundry of Messrs. Blaikie Brothers of Aberdeen brass-finishers; sculptor at Aberdeen about 1858 to death; very successful in bust-portraiture and medallions; his best known statues are those of Duke of Richmond at Huntly and Queen Victoria at Aberdeen. d.
