An aeronaut; made many ascents from Manchester, Liverpool and Sheffield; ascended in Florence Nightingale balloon from the cricket ground, Newcastle-on-Tyne 15 Aug. 1859, balloon came down at Boldon 7 miles from Newcastle when he was thrown out and fell 120 feet. d.
