Hatton Garden, to which the poor were admitted without any formality, the only hospital in London which received cholera patients 1832, it was moved into Gray’s Inn road 1843, on this site was built the royal free hospital and Marsden became senior surgeon; opened a small house in Cannon row, Westminster, for reception of cancer patients 1851, this became the Cancer hospital, Brompton in 1861, of which Marsden was senior surgeon; author of Symptoms and treatment of malignant diarrhœa better known by the name of Asiatic or malignant cholera 1834, 4 ed. 1871; translated A treatise on cancer of the breast by A.
