Yet there shall come forth a shoot from the stem of Jesse,
And a scion shall grow out of his root;
And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him,
The spirit of wisdom and understanding,
The spirit of counsel and strength,
The spirit of the knowledge and fear of Jehovah.
He shall be of quick discernment in the fear of Jehovah,
And shall not judge according to appearances,
Nor decide according to hearsay.
But he shall judge the poor in righteousness,
