When I kept silence my bones waxed old

Through my groaning all the day long.

For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me;

My moisture was turned into the drought of summer,

Yet I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and my iniquity I did not conceal.

I said, I confess my transgressions unto Jehovah;

Thou forgavest the burthen of my sin.

For this let every one that is godly pray unto thee

While mercy may yet be found;

The floods of mighty waters shall not come nigh unto him.
