CHAPTER IV
PROCESSES OF BATIK DYEING
The intricacy of the design is the determining factor in the number of processes necessary for any given piece of Batik. The more colors desired, the more often will the fabric have to be immersed in the dye bath. The simplest and therefore first process for the beginner is that of dyeing the material one color with the pattern left in the original color of the cloth. For convenience, this will be referred to as the first or elementary process.
