Ratcliffe breathed again, and his heart leaped in him as he picked out the light.
Satan altered their course.
“Are you sure?” asked Ratcliffe.
“Sure.”
“You gave me the devil of a fright.”
“Which way?”
“I thought she might have been run down by some ship coming in—or something.”
“Oh, she’s well out of the track,” said Satan.
