Inclusive estimates are submitted free of cost at any distance within forty miles. Estimators can be sent to any part of the Country on payment of their third-class return fares, or abroad on payment of reasonable expenses, chargeable only in the event of no business resulting. In cases where it is impracticable or inadvisable to remove furniture abroad in our well-known Railway Vans, estimates will be submitted for the packing and forwarding of it, in cases, to any part of the world.

Our Continental Vans, built especially for this traffic, are constantly in transit and are frequently available on their return journey for our Clients, thus saving the carriage expense on the empty van one way. Favourable quotations can also be had per van load for shipment to any part of America.

CASES
The goods are packed at our well-known Barnes Depository, and are shipped direct from Wharf attached, by our own Lighters, which ply between this Wharf and all the London Docks. This is a very great advantage to Clients, as the cases are delivered free on board at a much lower rate than by road, and all the heavy Dock charges attached to the ordinary system are completely avoided.
THIS CONSTITUTES A SAVING OF SEVERAL POUNDS, EVEN ON A SMALL CONSIGNMENT OF FURNITURE

Harrods’ Barges also take delivery from ships on their arrival at London, avoiding all Dock charges here also.
