The Note of Admiration or Exclamation is used
1. After Interjections; as,
Alas! he is already dead.
2. After a phrase in the nature of an address or exclamation; as,
Vital spark of heavenly flame!
Quit, oh quit this mortal frame;
Trembling, hoping, ling’ring, flying,
Oh the pain, the bliss of dying!—Pope.
