Iron Objects Excavated At Jamestown Near The Site Of An Early Seventeenth-Century Forge. Shown are blacksmiths' tools, bar iron, sword guards, slag, and a few incomplete iron objects. It appears that the forge, located a short distance west of historic Jamestown church, was in operation as early as 1625.
