[ swīð] (ȳ) strong, mighty, powerful, active: severe, violent. comp. swiðre right (hand, side, etc.).

[ swīðe] (ȳ) adv. very much, exceedingly, severely, violently, fiercely, Æ, AO, CP. comp. swīðor more, rather. superl. swīðost most, especially, exceedingly: almost, nearly. for swīðe, swīðe swīðe very much, very severely, CP.
