Mallû Ghulám-i-gídí.

Thus he treats us with scorn,

Mallu the slave base born.

To this one of Sher Sháh’s men replied:

Kaul-i-Rasúl bar hakk

Lá khaira fil abídi.

The words of the Prophet are true,

No good can a slave ever do.
