| 4 tablespoons butter |
| 1 cup sugar |
| 2 eggs |
| ½ cup milk |
| 1¼ cups flour |
| 2 teaspoons baking powder |
| 1/8 teaspoon ground mace |
| dash of salt |
| 1 teaspoon vanilla |
1. Put butter in a bowl; add sugar. "Cream" or rub thoroughly together.
