THE VERB.
The future tense of the verb to be. Budoucí čas slovesa býti.

The so-called “compound future tense,” of all Bohemian verbs is formed from the future forms of the auxiliary to be—budu, budeš, etc. and the infinitive of the verb.

Ex. Budu mluviti. I shall talk or I shall be talking.

Budeme míti, we shall have. Budeš slyšeti, you will hear. Učitel bude chváliti. The teacher will praise. Teta bude chváliti. The teacher will praise. Sestry budou mluviti. The sisters will talk. Míti, to have, to possess, is also used in the sense of to have to. ought to, in which case it is followed by the infinitive. Ex. Mám mluviti pravdu. I ought to speak the truth, I have to speak the truth. Máme pracovati. We ought to, we have to, work.

Idioms. Jak se máte? How are you? How do you do? Mám se dobře. I am well. Máme se dobře. We are well.

Míti se dobře, (špatně), to be well, (unwell), (se is a reflexive pronoun). Mám se špatně. I am not well.
