In some idiomatic expressions the third person singular of the imperative occurs. Dej Bůh! May God give. Chval každý duch Hospodina. Praise every soul the Lord!
The second person singular is the fundamental imperative form, the imperative root. The first person plural is formed by the addition of -me, the second person plural is formed by the addition -te to the imperative root. Ex.

| chval-me | let us praise! |
| chval-te | praise! (you) |
| mluv | speak! |

When the second person singular of the imperative ends in -i, this -i changes into ě. čti! read! čtěme! let us read! čtěte! read! jdi! go! jděme! let us go! jděte! go!
The negative form is made by prefixing ne- to the position. Nemluv! Don’t speak! Nemluvme! Don’t let us speak! Nemluvte! Don’t speak!
