Feminine nouns ending in a soft consonant are declined like řeč.
Ex.: věc, thing; pomoc, help; ending in -t: kost, bone; radost, joy.
Some nouns of this declension, especially those ending in -l and -ň, ď form nom. and instr. plural like růže. Ex.: hůl, stick, hole, holemi; dlaň, palm, dlaně, dlaněmi; loď, ship, lodě, loděmi.
Adverbs. Příslovce.
Adverbs modify verbs, adjectives and other adverbs. Příslovce určují slovesa, přídavná jmena a příslovce.
Příslovce způsobu, Adverbs of manner, odpovídající na otázku jak? how? are often formed from the definite adjectives by replacing the final vowel by -ě. Ex.

As shown before, -ě changes r into ř, h into z, ch into š and k into c. dobrý good, dobře well, vysoký high, vysoce highly, dlouhý long, dlouze at length, suchý dry, suše dryly, tichý, tiše, hladký smooth, hladce smoothly.—After l, e is added. rychlý quick, rychle quickly, smělý audacious, směle audaciously.
