WHY MOTHER ’PHONED TO THE POLICEMAN

At first Mother did not miss Bobby and Betty.

But after a while she wondered where they were.

She went to the door and called, “Bob-by!”

There was no answer.

Then she called, “Bet-ty!”

Still there was no answer.

Then Mother guessed what had happened.
