A Chinaman comes to our house each day
Wif horses that’s colored both red an’ gray,
An’ wagon ’ist full of things to eat—
An’ up I climbs on his big high seat.
This Chinaman’s name I cannot tell—
But “veg’table man” will do as well;
For corn an’ beans and cabbage, too,
He grows in the fields for me an’ you.
An’ w’en it’s time to drive to town
He brings his wagon ’ist loaded down
