1/2 pint of sifted flour, scant measure.

3 tablespoonfuls of butter.

4 tablespoonfuls of milk.

1 egg.

1 teaspoonful of baking powder.

Flavor.

Make this the same as cup cake and bake in a deep tin plate, in a moderate oven, for about twenty minutes. When the cake is cool, split it with a sharp knife, and fill with a mixture made as follows:—
