Discovered, Rosie and Katie
Rosie:
Oh, Katie, don’t you want a doll for Christmas? I want one just awful, dreadful, terrible bad—not a bad dolly, but I want it so bad that I just can’t tell you how bad.
Katie:
Now then, Rosie, ain’t you the naughty girl to be wanting a doll when dear Dannie is trying to get his eyes well? I don’t want anything if he can just be made to see, and you know that takes lots of money.
Rosie:
Well, I guess I can wish for a dolly—wishing doesn’t cost anything, does it? ’Course, I don’t mean I want it bought for me; I just mean I want it. That isn’t the same, not a bit.
Katie:
