THE BENDED KNEE.

Pray on—pray on—poor suff’ring soul!

Why wilt thou not thy burdens roll

On Him who died for thee?

O! cease not till thy dying day,

Beneath his cross, to watch and pray;—

Live on thy bended knee!

O! pale faced mourner! raise thy head,

And weep not for the sainted dead
