PLUM SOUP.

½ pound of plums boiled in a quart of water and strained.
2 tablespoonfuls of sugar.
½ cup of oatmeal.
Boil and serve cold.

APPLE SOUP.

3 cups of apple sauce sweetened.
2 bouillon cubes.
3 cups of water.
Boil and serve hot.
(Pear soup is made in the same way.)

ONION SOUP.

6 large onions boiled and put through a colander.
2 bouillon cubes.
1 quart of water.
Flour to thicken.
Boil and serve hot.

POTATO AND CABBAGE PUDDING.
(This is used as a meat substitute.)

1 head of cabbage boiled thirty minutes.
6 sliced potatoes.
Boil all together until soft.

1 teaspoonful of lard, heat and add flour until a brown gravy is made. Add salt and pepper. Stir into potatoes and cabbage and serve hot.
