Especially to be avoided under six years are toys having:
sharp points, corners, edges;
small bells or detachable ornaments;
paint which easily comes off;
flimsy toys easily broken;
woolly animals (unless washable and washed);
popguns;
fine material, sometimes sold as “Kindergarten material”, e.g., sewing cards, paper mats, straws, small beads, sticks, peg boards, crayons, blocks.
