Endearing this our treasure;
Its many little winning ways,
Its cunning tricks and baby plays
Bewitches beyond measure.
We watch it bud from day to day,
Developing new beauties;
A wonder in precociousness,
Performing baby duties;
It laughs, and coos, and “patty cakes,”
