Whose mighty will and warrior worth
Won battles great and gory.
It tells of valor long since gone,
Of victories commended,
Of wonders seen and wonders told,
Of buried braves and heroes bold,
Cast in nature’s choicest mold,
Now on earth’s bosom blended.
We sigh in sadness o’er the wreck
