And Anacreon says—
They placed upon their bosoms lotus flowers
Entwined in fragrant ὑποθυμιάδες.
Æschylus also, in his Prometheus Unbound, says distinctly—
And therefore we, in honour of Prometheus,
Place garlands on our heads, a poor atonement
