While the Block House was used as a dwelling the stone tablet placed over the door with the inscription,

COLL. BOUQUET
1764

was removed and inserted in the wall of the staircase of the City Hall. The Daughters of the American Revolution petitioned Councils for permission to restore it to its original position. The petition was granted, and the tablet now fills the space which it occupied one hundred and thirty-eight years ago.

"I do love these ancient ruins.
We never tread upon them but we set
Our foot upon some rev'rend history."
