At the beginning of the volume (fol. 3 b) which is written in Portuguese, is a laudatory sonnet in Spanish, “De Don Francisco de Vargas à la Nacion Portuguesa.” Beg.: ‘Los dones que natura ha producido.’
Add. 28,495. Paper, in folio, ff. 175, xvii. cent.
“Guerras del Tartaro y conquista del grande Imperio de la China. Primera parte;” divided into 32 chapters; with an appendix at the end. Beg.: ‘Quando los olandeses se concertaron con el cosario Jesan.’ There is no date to the MS., which seems to be original and written shortly after 1642, when the invasion of China by the Tartars took place.
