Exemplification (Sobrecarta) of a “Carta executoria de hidalguia” granted by the Chancery Court of Granada, and confirmed by Philip II. of Spain on the 24th of July 1587, to Diego Suarez de Garnica, natural son of Francisco Nuñez de Garnica, vecino de Ocaña; with leaden bulla appended, and signed by licdo. Diego Messia de Frias; licdo. D. Pedro de Molyna; licdo. Don Alonso de Erasso; the whole being attested by Juan Lopez Brabo (sic) “scriuano mayor de los hijos dalgo de la Audiencia del Rey nr̄o sr. [en Granada].” At the end are memoranda of the production of the document before the “Ayuntamiento, Justicia y regimiento de dicha villa de Ocaña: á saber Don Martin Jufre de Loaysa, cavallero de la Orden de Sanctiago y 24 de Granada, gobernador de la prov. de Castilla en el partido de Ocaña; Francisco de Frias, alferez mayor de dicha villa; Diego Lopez de Haro y Salazar, D. Gomez Messia de Figueroa, el Viejo; Juan Ximenez Chinchon, D. Rodrigo de Frias Messia, D. Alonso Rodriguez de Gamarra, y Juan Manuel de Sotomayor, cavallero de Sanctiago,” this latter attestation being dated the 24th of Aug. 1587.
