8. Correspondence between Sir Horne Popham, commodore to H.M. Naval Forces in the Rio [de la] Plata and the authorities of Monte Video and Buenos Ayres regarding the non-fulfilment of the terms of the capitulation agreed upon between General Beresford and D. L. Liniers upon the surrender of the former in August 1806, which capitulation the Spanish officers refused to acknowledge as binding on the plea that Liniers had no authority to sign it, and that in reality it was not signed till after the surrender of the British Forces at Buenos Ayres f. 14
