- On page 5 the Arabic خَاتَمٌ is “khatam” not “khatim,” as described; the latter
would be خَاتِمٌ. Both, however, may mean a ring or signet.
- Links were added from the LIST OF PLATES to each individual plate.
- The footnotes were gathered and moved to a separate section of the book (see

- On page 51 there were two sidenotes for “Class II”. The second was changed to “Class
III.”
- Missing or obscured punctuation was silently corrected.
