He paused to note the effect of his words.
"Out with it, man!" exclaimed Farrar. "Don't say he's put the padre out of action."
"He has," said Banger, with an extra special grin.
"Bitten him?"
"I don't think so," replied Sefton. "In default of definite evidence the answer is in the negative."
"Then what has the dog done?"
