“Then you think he’s still there?”
“Guess so.”
“Don’t think he’ll get rattled because you haven’t shown up?”
“He never gets rattled,” said Gordon, contemptuously.
The boys smiled.
“He understands the Morse code—probably?”
To this question Gordon disdained to reply except in a very general way. “He understands everything,” said he.
“Bully for him!” called several of the boys.
“He’s the real thing, all right,” commented another.
