- ‘If thou beest he’ (Paradise Lost, Bk. i. 84).
- ‘If thou beest death’ (Henry VI, Part II, Act iii. Sc. 3).
- ‘If thou beest rated by estimation’ (Merchant of Venice, Act ii. Sc. 7).
