XXXVI

So, for the moment, all the universe

Being abolished, all 'twist God and him,—

Earth's praise or blame, its blessing or its curse.

Of one and the same value,—to the brim

Flooded with truth, for better or for worse,—

He pounces on the writing-paper, prim

Keeping its place on table: not a dint

Nor speck had damaged "Ode to Araminte."
