The girl seemed to be trembling with suppressed rage. Hugh became angry.
“I’m quite capable of taking care of myself,” he said coldly.
“Are you going to see her to-night?”
“I don’t see what that’s got to do with you.”
“Because if you do, I won’t stay here. I’ll leave to-night. I swear I will.”
